Ribbit gives you two ways to develop: For your community, and for ours.
Ribbit Mobile is a consumer application built on the Ribbit Platform that makes it possible to manage calls, messages, and phones all in one place. Now, through extensions to the Ribbit Platform, we’ve made it possible for developers to create innovative apps for Ribbit Mobile customers—in addition to creating apps for your own users, company, and communities.
Applications built for Ribbit Mobile can be simple widgets or complex extensions to critical business applications.
One of the advantages to developing for Ribbit Mobile is that you don’t have to establish a billing relationship with Ribbit, or pay for the use of Ribbit services within your application. Since our customers are already using our services, you’re simply opening your application up to those customers without having to manage users or billing yourself. Ribbit Mobile customers either pay for application services or are granted access to services as an extension of their existing Ribbit Mobile accounts. This presents a unique opportunity for you as a developer to enhance your application’s value simply by integrating Ribbit services and promoting your app to Ribbit Mobile customers. Your application’s users—and our customers—will gain a richer experience.
Whether you’re building apps for your users or Ribbit Mobile users, the APIs and platform services are the same.
Our library of SDKs, sample apps, sample code, documentation, forums, and tutorials are relevant for developers taking advantage of either opportunity. As a Ribbit Mobile platform developer, you can choose to use either our server-side family of SDKs (.NET, PHP, Java, and soon Ruby and Python) or our client-side family of SDKs (Flash, Silverlight, and JavaScript). When you’re ready to distribute your app, simply complete the Application Details page and upload a description of your application along with a short video explaining how to use your app, and submit it for review. Once we test and approve it on our end, we’ll add your app to our Ribbit Mobile Application Gallery for customers to download and use.

| Monetize Your App Through Our Ribbit Mobile Rewards Program (COMING SOON!)
The Ribbit Mobile Rewards program is designed to compensate developers for usage of their applications by Ribbit Mobile Plus and Pro subscribers. As a developer, you’ll be able to monetize usage of your application. Every month, Ribbit will determine a total "earn out" calculated as a percentage of the total revenue Ribbit earns from Ribbit Mobile Plus and Pro users. Developers will receive a percentage of the earn out proportional to the usage of their application by Plus and Pro users. The more these users use your applications, the bigger your reward. It's simple! Rewards will be disbursed as credits to your account, which you can apply towards your consumption of Ribbit services or cash out. Encouraging your users to adopt Ribbit Mobile Plus and Ribbit Mobile Pro accounts will help drive your revenue.
